Stargate SG-1 Cancelled!

So Teri and I went to Vegas this weekend with some friends. I also met up with a former co-worker from Tickets.. He left tickets to join the enemy.. Microsoft.. Even still, we're friends.. Had a couple meals together, it was a good time had by all.. His girlfriend has relatives here in Scottsdale, so maybe i'll see him more often..

Anyways... The night we got there, Friday, we wandered down to Luxor.. Its my favorite place to play for some reason.. I didn't realize what time it was, time flies.. As I'm sitting there, a chick in a skimpy red dress walks up.. She asks me how to play the game (Let it Ride..).. So I start to explain the game.. She then proceeds to stand next to me, and blow cig smoke into my face... Mistake number one.. So a few minutes of chitchat pass.. Then she asks me if she can play... Sure.. Sit down, put you're money up... No... She wants to play with -my- money... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot??? No thank you.. Her friends comes over and start talking.. A few minutes later they move onto the next mark...

So i wonder why me? I'm sitting there with red $5 chips.. The guy across from me is betting $25.. Who the hell knows..

Nothing like taking photos at 80mph.. (yes, I know its blurry. Try driving and taking photos with a cell phone at the same time.)

I've finally gotten my upload script going.. Its still rough around the edges (IE: not user friendly), but it works..

My main reason for writing my own script is that none of the other scripts out there do what I want.. For example: I have a folder with Pets, contain folders for Sasha, Stash and Snicker... But when these scripts run, they put all the photos for Sasha, Stash and Snicker into Pets. *sigh*.. The other problem is that it would would always send all the photos.. WHich means that when I would add photos to Snicker's folder, it it upload all of them, creating duplicates. DUMB..

But now that I have it working, its far easier to upload stuff. Its slow, but it works. And once I clean it up, make it user friendly, I can stick it on Teri's machine, so she can upload the photos herself.

Well.. I've found some new software for blogging.. I was using the website itself to add entries, but now I've found something else for now.. Seems to work well enough.. So maybe you'll start seeing more entries from me.. Its far easier for me to insert images, and other stuff.. Like putting in what I'm listening to while I type this, above.

What else has been happening... Lets see. Got my yearly review a few days ago, and got a pretty decent raise.. I wasn't actually expecting a raise, or just a small one.. It certainly makes me like the company even more..

Teri is doing well with her job.. Though they keep getting rid of people on her.. She also has a new laptop that I bought her, so she might start posting stuff herself...

We're going to be in 'Cuse at the end of August.. Its Fair time, and her sister is preggers. So we're doing the babyshower and such while we're there.

Our AC decided to kick the bucket not too long ago.. It wasn't completely dead, but barely keeping up with the heat. So I called the landlaord, and she got someone to look at it.. It was both low on freon, and there was a clog in the return pipe. I also washed out the coils, so hopefully this will lower my elect bill.

I'm also working on some software to upload photos from iPhoto to gallery.. So we'll finally have pictures up.. Finally... I have to write software because I think all the existing 'upload' tools, and website generation tools for iPhoto are faulty. They don't understand folders containing albums. They put all the photos from the albums contained in that folder into the root of the folder.. WTF?
I hope to have that done in a week or 2..

Anyways.. thIs is long.. I plan on doing this more often with this software, so we'll see..

Well, its obvious that I haven't updated this much in recent months. March Madness came and went.. Syracuse fizzled, partially due to injuries to McNamara. I wish him luck in the NBA.. He's a great player, but I don't really think he has what it takes for the NBA.. I've been a huge fan of his since he walked on campus.. But he doesn't have the speed or height for the NBA.. Maybe he'll prove me wrong. I hope so.. I might actaully go to an NBA game in that case :)

Other than that, not much else going on. Teri and I have been getting backyard together finally. We bought some blinds, rope lights, and shelves for the outside. Its starting to feel like another room finally.. Its weird, but before we added the blinds and shelves, it just felt like a slab of concrete outside.. Now with those 2 items, it feels more 'homey'..

Work: A few things... I'm on one of the most important projects in the company right now. I'm implementing something called DNSSEC for the API. Basicly it means that you have to have a 'key' in order to add/delete internet site names and addresses. Interesting stuff I suppose.. The other thing going on is that my company has been aquired by another one.. We're still going to be known as UltraDNS, but the parent company is Neustar.. The are the folks that do the phone number portability database for teleco's.. They are the ones that make it possible for you to change cell phone providers without changing your phone number.. Similar to what my company does, but we do the internet, and they do phone numbers. Neat. This merger certiainly sounds better than the previous ones. When Tickets.com merged, they total FUCKED the company. They are still recovering, years later. We'll see what happens here.

Long time no post... Firstly, Go 'Cuse!  After a semi-disappointing year, they pulled it trogether for the BET.. As I've been saying for 3 years now, Watkins is going to be good.. I think he's starting to realize that being 7ft, strong, and can move is a good thing.. I like what I see.. I see him next year dominating some games.. Roberts is good, and a little on the wild side.. He'll have his games, but I think Watkins is better..

How far can they make it in the tourney? Welllll.. I think they'll get as far as Duke.. But thats about it.. I've been dying to see GMac vs Reddick for a couple years, and maybe I'll get my wish.. Maybe another McNamiracle..

My friend Jose has a large hunger.. He routinely eats 8x8 and 10x10s from In-n-Out.. For those from back east, In-n-Out is a fast food burger place..You can order burgers with any number of patties and slices of cheese.. So a double double is 2 slices of cheese and 2 patties... And 8x8 is Eight patties and eight slices of cheese... Well. The one day that I didn't go to lunch with the guys from work, they went to a place that had a "if you can eat this, its free.." deal..
